For over three decades in private practice it has been my privilege to work with hundreds of people from diverse backgrounds, cultures and countries in both long and short-term psychotherapy. My clients have come seeking support and help for challenges they face in their daily lives, including anxiety and depression, trauma, isolation and loneliness, family and relationship conflict, and work dissatisfaction. Through a process of sensitive exploration, we work together to identify challenges and strengths, bring to light underlying conflicts and wounds that thwart fulfillment in love, work and play, and achieve enduring insight and change.

My primary clinical framework derives from ANZAP’s (Australian and New Zealand Association of Psychotherapy) three-year intensive psychotherapy training, known as the Conversational Model of psychoanalytic psychotherapy. I have also trained in psychoanalytic Self Psychology, Relational psychoanalysis and Gestalt Therapy. Currently I divide my time between the U.S. and Australia, and can only accept referrals for online therapy.

Affiliations: Contributing editor for Psychoanalysis, Culture & Society; Advisory board of Psychoanalytic Interventions: Clinical, Social, and Cultural Contexts (book series, Lexington); Chair, Education Committee, ANZAP. Annie’s book “Trauma and repair: Confronting segregation and violence in America” will be published this year (2020, Lexington).
